It was the best location and as a teenager I regularly sat in deep thought while watching the colours form; soaking up the last sunshine of the day.

As I sat on the warm concrete step in the midst of a sunset I listened to the cows, the horses and birds sing. A tractor sometimes rumbled in the background.

I wondered how the sunset colours were created and what made each sunset different while pondering my teenage life.

I soon moved to the city for a few years to study and I don’t think I ever sat and watched a sunset during that time.

I saw a lot of high-rise buildings, noisy cars and buses everywhere and a lot of people rushing around- the opposite to the country life I was used to.

I did admire the city lights at night time and they had their own sort of beauty but they weren’t the same as the natural beauty of a sunset.

Now that I’m back raising a family in the country, I have a lot better chance of easily spotting a sunset. I can hear the cows again; the birds sing their last song for the day and have had the occasional sighting of a deer.

As I shut the chickens up for the night, I often pause to admire the wonderful bright colours created by the sun going down.

This is why I created the Country Life Beauty Collection. Calming farm scenery and nature bathed in warm sunset colours.

When you look at this collection I want it to warm your heart and calm your mind.

Let it be a reminder that some of us in the world aren’t lucky enough to see the beauty of a sunset whenever they want to or just by chance.

I remember when I couldn’t see the sunset for the hustle and bustle of city life.

Over the years I have come to appreciate natural beauty a lot more and that’s why I paint sunsets and country life.

As they say, the best things in life are free; nature and sunsets are a real example of this.
